Has anyone seen one of these before? A 2 cylinder R175 renamed a wan275. B&S 75x80mm. Looks like it was made in 1992. Roughly 12hp? driving a st type 7.5 watt gen head.

I like it, parts might be hard to find. Do not think they have been in production for awhile??.changfa type 275.jpgchangfa type 275 2.jpgchangfa type 275.jpgchangfa type 275 2.jpgchangfa type 275 3.jpg

It would be nice to be able to buy affordable diesels again. I guess it's dependent on having rules possibly being modified. I guess we can always hope.

So does anyone think we might be able to buy small diesel engines again. Is fuel and power going to get so cheap we won't really care.

Thanks Veggie.. I was also thinking the shipping must be nuts all the way from china.
It is probably close to 150 pounds give or take..It is ashme shipping has gotton this expensive.. We could do so much more with these engines with easier access to parts. I think just a crankshaft and flywheel would be close to $150 usd. Thanks Keith..

Quote from: keith71 on August 25, 2024, 12:24:25 PMR175 complete engine parts in a box.. You assemble ??

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/r175-r175a-r180-r190-single-cylinder_1600916538383.html?spm=a2700.7724857.0.0.13f31979bd2xaA

I looked into buying an R175 as parts and the shipping costs were outrageous. Due to the engine block and cylinder head weight it can only be shipped via sea freight. They have to be shipped as part of an LTC (Less than container) load and extra handling is involved. Then there's the cost of Duty and Brokerage. Then additional ground freight from the port to your destination. By the time the engine is complete the freight costs come in nearly $850 - $950.

Thank you for the reply Tom.. I just watched a few quick videos on pex type A.. I can now see why they are now often used.. Quick, clean and easy..  When I first saw these new fitting types become popular they were pretty expensive, so looked into it no further..  I am still a solder and torch user.. Takes to much time and is a mess to use.  But this stuff is much quicker.. Thanks again..

Correct, PEX type A or aquapex. Did my house with it, good stuff. Keep the white pipe out of the sun. The manual expanders start at around $70 on amazon.

Did not realize pex came in clear color pipe.. So special tool needed for install and not push to fit?
