Has anyone seen one of these before? A 2 cylinder R175 renamed a wan275. B&S 75x80mm. Looks like it was made in 1992. Roughly 12hp? driving a st type 7.5 watt gen head.

I like it, parts might be hard to find. Do not think they have been in production for awhile??.You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment.

The whole genset, or just the st7.5? Lots of special parts on that engine. What's it worth??? Priceless as a conversation piece among a special group of friends, dependable long term backup power not so much. Please keep us updated.

The whole genset.. I figured parts might be tough to find.Even has a waterpump on the engine.  I did find a complete 45 page service book pdf online.. Definately not your average R175 lol.. I more or less just wanted to show you guys, and see if anyone ever used one or saw one.

Good find!
The engine looks similar to the Kubota ZB series engines.(ZB400,ZB600). It could be a clone.
My brother has a Kubota ZB600 and it's been a very reliable engine.

Tom, you said: ''dependable long term backup power not so much''
Wondering why you think they may not be dependable long term?
They also had a marine version that was used in sailboats late 80's early 90's from what I am reading. thanks.

I like what I see in the service manual. The diagram showing the internals of the engine looks very promising. I noticed that the main outer journals have a thrust ends on them. And, in turn this should make the crank end play adjustable with shim/gaskets. The crankshaft mains and rod journals are all oil pressure lubed. This is good for longevity and they look like they are a decent size so they should be able to take a fair amount of load. The engine has wet sleeved cylinders, and the pistons are four ringed type. Probably cast iron rings, and that is good for on site rebuild. I say that it should be a fairly reliable engine. I believe that this engine does not have counter balance shafts. So, this should be very simple and reliable and reliable engine to work on.

My only concern is parts. I put in a call to Marshall Masters for you and Marshall feels that he has parts available, or can get them for you.

I would look into locating a spare injector pump and injector lines as soon as you're able.

I did a quick search for spare parts and didn't find anything. Hard to depend on engine with limited parts. Although a lot of 175 parts might fit. I have to wonder why it is no longer in production.

Well I see Henry found parts, so I'll retract what I said.

For reference, I posted Masters in a sticky back in 2014. It's the very top thread in Changfa/Readstone/ Chinese Diesel
