My New Engine ! (Changfa player drafted by the Lister team)

Well, after much dreaming and scheming I just purchased a 6/1 Listeroid.
Although my Changfa's will still receive the same care and attention as before, I am really looking forward to building a 6/1, ST-5kw combination.

Boy I could not wait to get rid of my 6/1.
The reason is I thought it was the gutless wonder

Just kidding,

The real reason I got rid of it was I have to pull up to over 7K at times. and the 6/1 would never do it. I also saw that pound for pound the S195 was better suited for my needs.

It is all in your needs.

But the 6/1's are cute and much quieter.

I do miss how quiet the 6/1's are.

That is true I branched out and bought a Cat. But my last engine purchase was another S195.

Hey Henry,

Don't forget, I already have two S195's. Please don't cast me out of the Changfa gang yet  

I've always been intrigued by the listers(oids). I'm in a residential area and I need "quite" power.
(Although I still have plans for the Changfa CHP project.)

As far as I'm concerned, I now have the two best engines for my needs.

I didn't know you had a Listeroid. Did you cry when you sold it? I know I would.

PS: Hey guys, we need a section in the forum where motorheads like us can discuss such important subjects as....
-How do I hide this new engine from my wife?
-What if she makes me sell one engine before I buy another?
-How do I tell her that her car must now park outside in winter while I build "yet another" project.?

No I did not cry when I sold it. It was one of the most exciting times in my life.

That was when I purchased my first S195. When I got The S195 and fired it up for the first time I knew there was no turning back.

Oh, I remembered somthing. I will probably get beat up for this. Yes I had a 6/1. But it was a GM-90 6/1 direct injected. Personaly I like the GM-90's better than the CS Listeroids. I been around both and I decided to purchase the GM-90.

Reasons:

Slightly less fuel consumption.

Smokes less under load.

Easier to start in cold weather.

Oil pump down in the oil and operated by the crank.

Crank was counterweighted and has oil gallery to feed large rod bearing from oil pump. And an oil dipper on the rod end wich makes some redundancy.

But what do I know, I converted to S195ism.

Seriously,

Take the time to check your 6/1 out. Check for sand. Listen to the guys that have experiance with them.
And please do not run it any faster than recomended speed.

If you follow advice from the vets you should come up with a decent engine that will serve you well.
