Guys,

What do you expect. It makes sense to have the troubled engine up front. The last thing you want to do is step over the hard working S195 that has to constantly pick up the slack. :)

I've seen these on several cargo canoes here in Lake Victoria (in Uganda).  They are very fuel efficient, using about 1/4 the fuel that a 24hp Evinrude uses.  And yes, these canoes are displacement hul, and have been in use for over 50 years here.

I managed to trade an Evinrude I had in the shop for one of these.  It's now in my new Changfa-triple nickle setup.

Hardy Diesel used to sell those outboards 12-15 years ago. And yes, they advertised that they were designed to push a small barge. I thought about buying one at the time, but they were right around $1000. I'm pretty sure the EPA jumped right on that and banned them. If they hadn't, they would probably be selling on ebay for under $500 by now.
