high output and efficiency alternator

I found a site with some specs and they say it is a #8 woodruff key........well as a machinist I have never seen a size listed that way and the machinist handbook doesn't list by those numbers either. so......I googled a bunch then found that the auto guys call woodruff keys with SAE numbers an SAE #8 which is 5/32" wide....  .156" was ratteling around in my head also so I went and put a 5/32" keyway in the pulley.....I hope you are wrong with the .125    either way it will have to work now! .......and Thanks!

you are good to go with your keyway
the key in my alternator is right at .152" in width

at least that is as good as my calipers can measure a used key at.

I ordered one. I was in a time pinch and as it was coming from China I picked up this on ebay. It cost a bunch more but it will do 12 or 24volt and I could get it quicker to get things going. http://www.bogartengineering.com/2020.htm I am going to install the one from China on my other 6/1 when I get to it.....Thanks

Hi Dave,

I really like the looks of the Bogartengineering battery SOC/monitor unit you found.

They look like they do a decent job of SOC calculation by integrating current and monitoring voltage. 

The price is not out of line with it's functions, in fact I think it's a pretty good price for the package.  I'd be interested to know how much current the unit draws, when you get ready to hook it up.
