More vibration isolation info.

Of course they aren't rated for the weight, but they do a great job at just sitting there soaking up "negative vibes".
When I say move it , I mean roll it a few feet by hand in a straight line, they won't stand side loads.
And I'm looking at 1000 to 1200 lbs total, Changfoid & 12kw head.
Man does it dance on start up and shut down!

The block is about 30" X 40" X about 11" thick.  This block has a steel plate under it with the mounting bolts passing thru it to the steel generator frame.  The concrete block is sandwitched in the middle.  The anchor bolts are epoxied into their holes thru the concrete.  The whole thing sets on top of the 1/2" stall mat on a concrete floor in my generator shed.  It is not bolted to the floor, and has not moved any in over 80 hours of loaded operation.  Power went out tonight for about 2 1/2  hours. Nothing better than dinner on listeroid power:)

Is there a prefered mix (recipe) of sand-to-concrete a listeroid base.?
Type of concrete powder? ratio of sand? type of sand?
I would like to set up something similar to ronmar's layout.

Unless something unique is required, I was planning to use 8 to 10 bags of "ready mix". Just add water. ?

Here are some pics of a concrete isolation slab, with some huge pumps (2,000 gpm) mounted, to keep vibration out of the building.  While I took the photos, the slab was "dancing" about 1/2" in all axis.   Slab is at least 1' thick,  8' wide, and 20' long...  The water flex joint is between the 2 red flanges on the horizontal pipe

Veggie, When I did mine I added some extra Portland cement to the mix. Just add a shovel of cement to each bag of concrete. No cracks on my base after 2 years. No cracks in the generator room floor either, I wish I could say that about the rest of the concrete work around our home.

don't add any more water than is absolutely necessary, the thicker the mix the harder to pour and work, but...

it will be harder than the hubs of hell
