To properly balance a 6-1 you have to disassemble it and get the weight of the piston, and the big and little end of the rod calculate the bobweight at the proper % for that engine. Then balance the rotating assembly. The Lister in the video looks like it does not need much of a resilient mount system to calm it down. If they are not reasonably balanced to begin with there is no mount that will "calm" them down other than the ton of concrete and good bolts. IMO

You could do that, if you knew what balance factor worked in your application. Would you guess 53%? Or would you try a straight 50%? And, how could you be sure that your dimensionally huge counterweight mass calculations are accurate.

In my case, I use an ACES 20-20 balancer, designed for helicopter track and balance, aircraft prop balance and tail rotor balance. We balanced a 6/1 that was running at a bit higher at 720 RPM.

The problem is this: A single cylinder Lister type engine with no form of counterweight what so ever will vibrate vertically quite violently. However, it will not vibrate fore/aft much at all. Adding counterweight will decrease the up down, but increase the fore/aft.

The best option for us is to achieve equal levels of vibration up/down and fore/aft. Since a Listeroid is a single speed engine, we can place weights way out on the flywheel, where less weight is required. (significant speed changes would otherwise make such counterweights impractical)
