Been here a while Bob but I am still amazed at the amount of info here from the old days.  It really would be a shame to loose it but then again, how may people come here to see it? Guess you would have the numbers for that.

I love all this stuff and post a bit on LEF about my solar setups and ramblings because there is not many people there and fewer here. I am set to buy 2 x12 HP horizontal engines on monday and use one to make an Induction motor generator.  I'd be happy to post my ramblings here if it would help.
I am also slowly shooting some of my Burner Vids for a YT come back and I'd be happy to give this place a plug if it helped. I am looking at diversifying what I do but I have come up with a few things I think would be of interest to DIY/ off gridder types as far as controlling heat output of oil burners and a couple of new designs for practical purposes which I can't find anyone else has done yet.

Despite all the Environmental/ save the planet talk these days, seems those willing to get their hands dirty doing something themselves is fast diminishing.
Like all these people that want to buy home batteries but want to pay the money and never have to touch the things again.  Forget the idea of them having a lead acid pack they had to top the water up on once a month, that's too hard/ involved/ not trendy etc.

I don't know where there is an audience now. I look at a few electronics / offgrid based sites and they have a small audience too despite having some real boffins amongst them. I see the Biofuels thing is now dead also which once used to be something that forums I was on had hundreds of Visitors a day.
I think there needs to be a more modern angle to the place even only as the carrot to get people in. Maybe things about saving money with DIY projects for power or heat would be a good start. ?

I'd love to have more people to talk to here and hate to see the site go.  Other than the couple of suggestions made, don't know what else I could do to help revitalise the place but happy to hear suggestions.
