Inverter/Solar backup

Back to square one on the inverter. Apparently the sales associate didn't actually get the approval from their manager.

Seriously looking at the Victron Energy line. They really have some interesting offerings, however their 120v/60hz lineup is rather limited.

Pros/Cons

48v

Pros:

Smaller guage wire
Tends to be more effecient
More watts for solar given the same MPPT charger
??

Cons:
More batteries (total for same givem AH)
danger factor

Keeping with inexpensive batteries

4*6v golf cart batteries ~$350 for 225ah @ 24v    Total (5400wh/2)=2700wh @ 50% SOC   $7.71/wh

6*8v golf cart batteries ~ $600 for 160ah @ 48v   Total(7680wh/2)=3840 @ 50% SOC $6.64/wh

Wrong on the AH.   You measure a battery bank in Watt hours.    You select volts and amps to get the WH you need.
  A 24V 400ah bank is same watt hour as a 48V 200ah bank
4 L16's  $1200   vs 8 GC2'2  $800

Danger factor ?   a wrench dropped on a 24V bank is going to make the same mess as dropped on a 48V bank.
