so please get out and vote your conscience.

this campaign season here in the good ole USA has been probably one of the most divisive ones that i can remember
and my memory is pretty darn good.

i certainly would never lean on anyone to vote one way or another, however i would insist that in order to retain the right to complain, one needs to at least get up and go out and vote.

and tomorrow will be the first day of the next 4 years, and hopefully things will get better than we have had it for the last 16 years or so... (notice i covered both bush and obama years).

and hopefully there will some cooler heads that might consider reigning in our friends at a particular regulatory agency!

hey i can hope can't I?

I am thoroughly disgusted by the lack of moral character in ALL "gubbermint" to quote Mr. Steve Unruh. I am really scared to see that our "leaders" cherry pick the law to enforce. Or not to enforce as the whim of the day. People who will not bother to get out and vote simply infuriate me. If ya don't vote, ya can't bitch, so there.
I voted weeks ago, so my die is cast. May God save this Nation, He is the only one that can.

Ok - here on the other side of the world, we are largely in shock with the election result. The general consensus around work here is that the American public must truly loath Hillary Clinton and what she represents (rightly or wrongly) to elect an utter clown like Donald Trump into power at the helm of the good 'ol USA. We also have a huge number of US celebrities (jokingly or not) requesting entry into NZ. They will likely be told "you shat in your bed - stay put and clean it up". My personal view after watching hours of TV on the subject are that neither candidate behaved with any dignity throughout the process and more time was spent on mudslinging than policy. Bernie Saunders got totally dicked leaving the USA voters sitting between a rock and a hard place. Donald Trump may turn the country on its head and "make America great again" but I don't hold much hope from someone who freely admits to not paying his dues (taxes) which then have to be covered by the blue-collar brigade "which then voted for him...................... God forbid!!!!!!!!!!  ::)  Well that is how I see it from down here. Good Luck Fellas.

Sounds like you've been listening to what we used to call the main stream media.  They are nothing but the propaganda arm of the democratic party.  No matter how good a job President Trump does, they will malign and disparage him.  He's not as bad as they try to make him out to be, and might actually turn out to be a pretty good president.  But you wouldn't know that listening to the alphabet soup propaganda artists.

I voted, so I get to complain, right?

I am, to say the least, shocked by the results of the election. I would have bet that Hillary would have pitched a royal bitch fit over her loss.  Evidently she has more class than I give her credit for!
My take is that The Donald really and truly loves the United States, and is determined to do what he can to clean up the political system in DC and help the Country in general.
I figure "they" will crash the economy just after Trump takes office, in retribution of his win.  I also believe Trump can't be bought. I hope I'm right in that belief, because special interests are getting out of hand.
Anybody anywhere that believes anything the "Mainstream" US media spouts is delusional. Period.

End of Rant!

Hey thanks for thinking about me Ron. Got a ping wake-up call that my name was mentioned.
I actually say "gibbermint". Gimmering is fearfully running around in circles babbling nonsense like they are doing now in Mr Casey's home town of Seattle. In Portland OR, the nearest "progressive" big city center to me.
"Mint" is the practice of just printing more money to cover your failed social assumptions. Feed them more pizza; "Just feed them cake". Cakeeater not-logic.
"Gov'mint" is for those who believe the solution is always more, bigger, will-be-better governments and regulations. Ha! Failure-to-deliver covered up by minting, printing up more money.
I like your gubbermint to. So gummed-up that no movement possible. Covered up again by mint printing out more, distract them with bread&circuses, money.
Or . . . mint could mean printing up more regulations and pages of taxing codes.

I voted purple. They say we different third party voting purple's were un-decided's. Throw-a-way voters.
Not true at all.
We just Decided to not be either Red/Blue beholding; but Free-Choice, Independents.
We serve an important purpose in American elections.
Neither the Red or Blue believers can ever say they have The Majority of the people who voted endorsing them. No mandates.
More vote-chose Not the winners; than did. 47.3% and 47.5% is not a mandate. Those who chose not to vote do not count. Silent at the vote; must remain, silent.
Win: always be humble, caring, amenable that now you must bend your High Party Ideals to the reality of getting real things done for as many of your fellow citizens as possible. You cannot raise up a few on the backs of many and say success.
The reality is the not everything, everyone, wants to be "changed", "improved", "saved", "progressed".
The most dangerous man in this last elections cycle was revolution calling Bernie Mao-Te-Dung Sanders. History repeats, Mr Sanders. May you burn in hell too for suckering in the youth of your nation.
Past the election day now it is D.Trump, Ms. Clinton, and PresObama been showing the high roads.

Fine just the way I am, as free and independnet and responsible, thank-you.

Well i have been watching the news for the last couple of days and it looks like the tolerant left isn't so tolerant and doesn't like the newly elected president of the United States. They are now deciding to take to the streets in many large cities and block streets and highways and throw rocks at police and in some cases setting fire to some buildings.  This is not protesting the is rioting. What do they have to protest? Did many of them even Vote? My father who was a very wise man said to me when i was young "If you don't vote you can't bitch about the outcome"
The mainstream media is covering it and saying how these brave people are standing up for their rights.  We all have the same right go out and vote and let the people decide, which they did.
If conservatives had taken to the streets in 2008 or 2012 there would have been cries from the mainstream media of racism just because the president was black because in there minds it couldn't be about his politics

Whats with the colleges cancelling midterms because the prof's feel the students are too traumatized to take their exams? Some colleges are bringing in service dogs to comfort the emotionally fragile students.  Have we created a generation of snowflakes?

This is what you end up with when "Everyone gets a Trophy, because you are all Winners".    Soros is probably funding behind the scenes just like the protests at Trump rallys and Black Lives Matter.

Well mr Casey you have certainly missed my point completely with your pop-off, "Chose your tribe"
I DID CHOOSE.
Not donkey blue.
Not elephant red.

I choose to be obstinate, undomesticatable zebra black and white striped. Some of us zebra's just consider ourselves as black with white stripes. Or, white with black stripes. Same-same in the end. Free. Independent. And cantankerous, mean, uncompromising  about it.

O.K. I live one hour driving away to this last nights Portland Oregon "wide spread riots", "with massive destruction".
Ha! Neighbor traintrack sitter, world-citizen gal came home early scared when things down there were going out of hand.
Previously I working in the Seattle/Puget Sound area I've been caught in these doing parcel deliveries going to Alaska and Hawaii at the downtown post office.

These protest in Portland Oregon started as social-media spontaneous from folks really fearful for themselves as GLBT. Truly fearful as brown eyed, black haired., dark skinned born-here, and new citizens. Fearful for themselves, and their children. As Youths, all full of youthful vim&viger wanting to make a difference in their world.
By the second day the actual organized peaceful devoted groups organized getting involved co-coordinating.
By the third night the traveling-to, paid-for disruptive "anarchists" finally showed up.
The Portland and Seattle police are very familiar with this progression pattern since the 1999 WTO up in Vancouver BC.
They knew there was to be violence agitators by this third night.

Us grey-hairs know this pattern well too.
These newer organizer's in Black Lives Matters, and the other groups will also have to learn not to allow paid-for world traveling disrupter/adjtators use them too.

Look at the alphabet-soup networks broadcasters and see how they have to loop again and again snippets to make it look worse than it is. Viewer rating sells advertisement dollars.
Sure, sure. A sidesaddle gasoline tanked GM pick up truck will fireball explode spectacularly on-demand when you give it some FX help for the camera.
Best video of last night Portland was the locals stations live news helicopter shots showing perimeter crowd folks running away from the senced going to go bad situation and the police assisting them.

Been well known since the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago to tight-shot highlight those willing to play to the camara's.
They do this especially well in the middle east.

The antidote to fear is steadiness. Learning capabilities to shuck for yourself and yours.
Never give up control of yourself to anyone else, for any creed, any ideal. And especially not to any fear they plant into you.
Dieing is easy.
Living a life without fears is hard. They pop-up and grow.
Watch that sf movie by Wiil Smith with his son Jaden for the wisdoms on fears.
Danger-is-real.
Fear is in your head.
Do not let fears rule you.

I don't have a tribe.  I am an American! I have the same right to vote for the person i believe will do the best job for the United States Of America as every other American citizen.

The Boston tea party analogy just doesn't make sense.  The colonists were oppressed (taxaction without representation) by the British government and revolted against the crown.  We just had a democratic election as set forth in the constitution of the United States of America and a new president was elected.

Just because some people don't like that Donald J Turmp was elected as our next president  doesn't give them the right to riot and destroy public and private property. No one here wants there home or business burned to the ground do they?

The party of tolerance has no tolerance for anything they don't agree with period.

Remember which party was against the freeing of the slaves, the formation of the KKK and against the Equal rights amendment in the 1960's  (democratic).

There were no riots when Bill Clinton was elected, there were no riots when Barrack Obama was elected, but there were when both Bush's were elected and now Trump.   The party of tolerance should be the party of intolerance

President Obama has done more to hurt race relations in this country in the last 8 years then any president before him.

not that i would expect an answer, but i figure why not give it a try...

i am thinking of drafting a letter to President Trump and explain our plight...

the EPA in my opinion is out of friggin control, and i want to make a pitch for allowing
folks like us to return to the ability to import small diesel engine's for the purposes of research/development
and end use for offgrid homesteads.

because he got a lot of support from folks out in the sticks, i am thinking lets make it easier to get out in the sticks!

being able to generate power "empowers" folks to populate area's that are not practical unless you got deep pockets.

i think you all know where i am going with this.

who know's maybe he or someone in his administration might take a serious look and maybe we could get the new president to do an executive order?

stranger things have happened,  and if we don't ask we will never know will we?

we have been waiting a long long time, (has it been 8 years?) to get to a place where we might get more favorable
treatment when it comes to what we do here.

Bob, you know that just may be the best idea that I have heard in quite a while. Why not make it a group letter, or .... just what kind of term am I .... Petition? Is that it?  At any rate I would probably let you sign my name to it. Maybe a few other forum members also.  Yeah, protection from a grid down
situation EMP, sunspot, hack, whatever. If the timing were chosen wisely, it could work.

Bob,

While it is probably a long shot that anything could be done, I could see myself signing such a letter.
