Hello Group.

I'm still procrastinating over my genny build, but ever so slowly cobbling-up parts, etc.

A friend is supplying me with (freebie) 4" or 5" C-channel and I have the Laidong 1115 engine, ST10 Head, and control/breaker panel already.

Looking for plans, or frame dimensions so that I can start to fab something up.

Thinking about a direct-drive Lovejoy setup and cooling with a radiator (engine is already plumbed for that). I would like it to be somewhat portable/moveable (wheeled) so that I can bring it up to the hunt camp in the fall.

Any pointers or thoughts would be appreciated.

Link to thread on this forum with my 1115/15KW build up. I belt drove minbe so I could slow the engine to just under 1800 RPM. The unit is my grid back up power.

This one is for a 6/1 'roid.  However you can at least see the general dimensions of what works for an engine of that size/weight.





Lots of folks just get a couple pieces of I-beam and weld to that.  I-beams are fine for rigidity, but I prefer to have a metal frame bolted to wood for vibration and noise reduction.  Heavy steel angle gives you ample rigidity while allowing you to close couple the vibrating steel to wood.  Bang on an I-beam with a hammer and it rings.  Bang on a piece of angle bolted to wood and it just goes Thunk!  

The CF-type engines are famous for the mechanical noise they generate.  You can keep the noise-generating vibrations to a minimum by incorporating wood somewhere in your engine frame design.
