smog pump for boost

Not too long ago, on one of the few forums I attend, there was mentioned using a smog pump to boost intake on a gas engine. I would like to know more about such an idea but can't find the thread. Do any of you guys know how to do this?

Back in tech school some of the  guys were VERY creative finding ways to blow up old B&S lawn mower engines  I saw one rigged up with a smog pump supercharger and it provided enough umph to send the rod out the side of the block in short order
