Tygon is what I use. Smaller diameters for chainsaws, weeed eaters and the like is available locally at NAPA. The 3/8" or so like you probably want is harder to find. Here is one on-line source. The clear line sold at places like Lowes will start getting hard in a very short time in my experiance.

What else can I run on WVO?
...Oh, and an old R-170

Actually I'm looking for 5/16ths ID. I have an 86 turbo diesel Jetta that I bought 2 years ago. I want to replace the line from the fuel/water separator to the injection pump with a clear line like it originally came with.

Forgot to add that Tygon isn't clear but it is translucent.

I saw that, problem I'm having is I only need 2 or 3 feet and everyone seems to want to only sell 50ft rolls. I'll keep looking.

How is Tygon for vegetable oil?

Tygon is fuel proof?   Good to know...!

Randybee1

Any Tygon is good for fuel? I've seen several different types that say they are specifically for fuel such as F-4040-A and 2705. I've seen other Tygon tubing that is just listed as Tygon. Is all of it fuel safe or only the designated ones?

Whatever clear fuel line you buy, make sure it is new clear fuel line!  :D

Found it (Tygon,F-4040-A) by the foot at.. McMaster-Carr- go figure!

I was running B99 biodiesel and so used some urethane tubing. Its turned brown color, and after 6 years you can barely see through it.  Thanks for the Tygon tip, I'll try that when I eventually replace the line and sight tube on my fuel tank.

Apparently Tygon is not good for use with all fuels.

For translucent line, air brake line works well.

That's why I went with Tygon F-4040-A. The spec says its good for just about any fuel. Evidently there are a ga-zillion different forms of Tygon, some good, some bad for fuel usage.
