Gentlemen,

Unfortunately, it looks like the virtual server that runs LEF has crashed. More annoyingly, I can't get in to reboot it.

Because of the time of year, it's most likely to be down until Wednesday after Christmas (Mon & Tue are bank holidays). If we're really lucky they run support on a Saturday and it'll get fixed today, but don't hold your breath.

Apologies for the inconvenience, you'll have to come here for your Lister Christmas fixes...

Cheers,
Ade.

UPDATE

In fact, it's a major hardware failure at the VPS vendor. They are currently working (and have been through the night) to rebuild everything and getting it back online.

Current ETA is "Saturday afternoon" UK time. Therefore, with luck, LEF will be back for Christmas  :)

Which VPS provider are you using?  I'm looking into one for a different project.

thanks

As a complete newcomer here I don't want to ruffle any feathers, but;

Why are there two forums anyway?  Especially as they seem run by the same folks and they have the same membership?

I'm sure there is a lot of great info on LEF, perhaps merge the old threads?

In my experience, the LEF is a bit more specialised for Lister specific questions mainly. That one is more up my alley in terms of expertise and major interests. (I am a semi-retired mechanic/electrician/facilities maintenance man and happen to own/operate a couple Lister servicing dealerships). So, yes they are different even though sharing membership and covering a lot of the same ground as this one. I have run into problems in the past with certain personalities and perceptions over here so feel a lot more comfortable interacting where I am welcome and have not had any difficulty at all - on the good ole LEF!

Simtech,  this forum was originally started out of frustration because the LEF was unreliable.   It would go down for days at a time with no explanation.  The admin there had no real control because the owner didn't back him up.   This forum was meant to appeal to a broader base of small engine owners, like mobile_bob and his Changfas :) , as well as the CHP angle.  A while after this forum started, control over the LEF passed to others who are involved here.   Both forums are great places to hang out and the LEF does have a LOT of great data.
