Oppinions on Markon alternater

The China diesel I acquired recently came with a Markon 7 kw 3600 rpm gen head. The fan blades are missing and I just got a quote for a replacement, plastic, fan for $59.00 + $10-$15 for shipping. This is a non avr unit and the sheet metal to keep rodents out is missing. So my question is to I pay the exorbitant price for another plastic fan, which may loose the blades again. Or step up and spend $400 + shipping for an ST7.5? This gen head will be run hard charging batteries and I'd like to know if it will hold up under that kind of duty. I also need good motor starting ability for the air compressor.
