Identify this Homelite generator?

Generator is for sale locally, I'm thinking about buying it. Curious if anybody can tell me what that engine is? Is it a 2 stroke? This is a very old 1500w Homelite generator.

That most definitely looks like a 2-stroke.  Interesting find.  Looks like late 50's, early 1960's vintage?  You could start a generator museum!

I don't collect generators, but somehow I now have 8 in various states of repair.
3 were given to me by people who'd heard I was interested in them including a cute little Honda E300 suitcase generator.
Its quite nice to be able to hand a few out to neighbors during power cuts.

O jes sure if you lived in upper NH i would visit you this year.
Can the visiters turn some engines/gens to the start.
And i am a loser for cilinders always run my vingers on the inside of them
Power making is just a alibi i want more engines.
