12HP power curve

I have yet to see a power curve for the S195 Changfa's.

This may be of some help to us 195 owners.
The 12HP TF140 Yanmar is VERY similar to the Changfa 195
I suspect we can expect similar performance to the power curve shown below

thanks for the graph, i think i have enough test data on the changfa 195 idi engine to
plot into the graph enough to get a comparison,

i will see what i can find over the weekend and post it here

iirc the specific fuel consumption curve looks pretty close to the changfa in shape
if not specific numbers, the engine uses approx 5% less fuel at 1500rpm than it does at 2000rpm
in grams/kwatt/hr, and peak torque of the changfa looks to be about the same place as
the kubota at ~1800rpm

The Yanmar curve is the only reference I could find to establish the expected power output for my 195 CHP system.
I have set up the drive system to produce 2.5kw max. when the engine is running at 1300 rpm.
I would have run it faster but this is also an experiment in noise control.
At 1300 rpm, the 195 is considerably quieter than at 1800 rpm.
The engine/gen head module will be set inside an enclosure which is lined with 2" acoustical foam.
Ducting for cooling the gen head will be run to the alternator's fan intake.
Cooling water lines will be run outside the enclosure to the water/heat storage tank.
Exhaust will be run outside through the wall and into an underground silencer, then it will go vertical up to the height of the garage roof.

Bob, if you do happen to find any performance data that's more representative of the 195 Changfa, it would be most useful.

I would like to find the Power Curve data on the Direct Injected S195. My guess is it will be different from an IDI. But by how much?

I believe the power curve above is for the DI engines.
(Both my 195's are DI)

Here's the general specs for comparison to the Changfa....

The bore on the Yanmar is 10mm smaller in dia.

I think the S195's should out perform the yanmar.

Oh, did you ever have a good load on your S195 yet?

Nice setup!

Its not working hard at all.

To let you in on a little secret. I intentionaly pulled a load well over 7000 watts for 5 min with my S195. Some people would not think its possible but these engines are under rated. And the engine still had a little to go on the fuel rack.
The S195's are strong engines. It is surprising what they can do.

I have the last test documented and I would like to do another test when I get a scale so fuel consumption can be figured out.

Once this is done I will release the results.

Yes, they really are amazing little engines. And I bet they can pull full load 24/7 in need be.

Very good!
An S195 pulling 8400 watts is impressive.
Based on the 2X rule of thumb, that's around to 16HP (from a 12HP rated engine).
Great little engines!

It is pretty impressive. We think the reasons it can pull such a load is the ST-12 gen-head is more efficent than the ST-7.5 at the same given high loads. And the efficency of the Direct Injected S195.

I could not believe it my self. That is why I held off and did more testing before I posted them.
