I agree.  Nice engine.  Them flywheels are big enough for me.  If they don't put a little extra lead in your pencil I'd like to what will.  OK, besides that.

can't see the other side, but it looks like the redstone

and yes they are a friggin beast

Not a Redstone, its different from what I can see of it.

Different style hopper, valve cover, muffler, air clener and the Redstone is electric start.  This one may also have a starter but the camera man is not showing the rest of it.

Bolted to the planks it does not seem to dance around when started and yes they are a beast.

yes if it were a redstone, that old dude wouldn't be hand cranking it to life

that engine must be smaller in displacement of bit tired, otherwise if it were like a redstone
one would need to be a gorilla to hand crank start it.

this is a yanmar N15Y or N22Y. my NT is the single flywheel version. Yanmar made the largest model N28Y which is rated at 35hp. max rpm 800 for the N and 1000 for the NT series.

Flywheel,

did you ever try to hand crank yours?

if so and you were able to start it successfully, you are my hero!

bob g

I can start the Redstone with the hand crank ONLY if its warm,  above 70 degrees or it has already been run and warmed up.

There is a lot of iron on the Redstone to get spinning with a hand crank, cold oil will also slow you down.

When you get older you will find that you just can't do things like you used to and then you really appreciate  electric starting.

something similar but newer than the N15Y or N22Y featured in the earlier video

It ain't cute and it's lopsided but there is a certain seduction in something that runs that nice.  Does anyone see them in the Americas?
