Turbine car

Seems to me that the proper application would be to put one in a car such as the all electric chevy volt, to push a battery charging generator. since the car would have "on board" charging capabilities the need for large heavy batteries would be reduced. When ever the batteries are low the turbine spins up to charge the system. just don't pull up too close to it at a red light :D

I think that's the principle behind the new Jag - it's all-wheel electric motor drive, but if your battery's running low & you're nowhere near home, you can use one or both of the turbines to re-charge the batteries & generate power to drive the motors (presumably simultaneously); so kind of like a diesel-electric train, except it's a turbine-electric. And a Jag. Or, for fans of Top Gear, A Jaaaaaaaaag.  ;D
