i finally figured it all out, i have been going about it all wrong!

first i should start out building one of these

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbRvsWuWNUM

then get rid of all my vehicles in favor of a motorized roller skate,

http://thehumansaredead.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/smart-car.jpg

a handful of twigs collected from the side of the road to heat with,
a harbor freight solar panel set, a single deep cycle battery, and a small inverter

boy it would sure be easy to build a cogenerator to power and heat now wouldn't it?

er,, maybe not?  i would need a listeroid 1.5hp engine.

hey, more room for the shop! right?

:)

Bob, if you have not thought about it, what you need is about 10 of these:

Then afterwards (if you don't already have one) you need either a loader backhoe with forks to stack them or a forklift.  With this kind of system an incredible amount of "stuff" can be stored in a relatively small space.
Bought 36 acres in Custer County Colorado.  Now to build the retirement home/shop

I'm still back with the idea of a lot of land and put all my treasures in the middle.
Somebody must know me. I have 211 acres and am slowly filling it with "things that I can use someday!"
Anybody wanna buy the land next to me so we can put that 640 acre idea to the test???

I have decided that I'm not going to worry about it. I'll keep my "stuff" and when I die, somebody
else has to figure out what to do with it. I won't care anymore!!

Mark I would rather stay in complete denial and live with my clutter than seeking help.

My wife is glad I have hobbies and have no intrest in bars or other women. :)

My clutter keeps me out of trouble. I can always find somthing to do at home

Don worry you guys...
When the s*#t hits the fan, we are the ones who have the bits and pieces to keep things running.
Think of it a (messy) bank account. ;D   That stuff will be worth it's weight in gold.

And let's not forget the knowledge to use those bits and pieces.
I am always amazed by people who don't even know how to use a screwdriver!!! :o

Well because of this thread, I went to the shop and cleaned out my tool boxes. You wouldn't believe how many tools I had that were not good enough to use, but too good to throw away. They are all in a big cardboard box now. Do I dare part with them? Can I bring myself to part with them............Woe is me.

Hopefully, you bought good tools to start with - if any "break" then you can have them replaced with new shiny ones.

I think bob left out some info that would help to determine the full extent of whether he needs help or not.  His garrage is packed, sometimes having to go out the main door and walk around to the rear of the building to enter the man door, as their is no path whithin the shop.  It dont stop their, he stores enough at my house that I dont think would fit in his current garrage if it were emptied and the refilled.  We dont need to talk about bobs storage units, other friends houses and "its cool junke riding around in my work van".

I must admit in some ways i'm worse than bob.  I have a 66 mustang on a lift.  as the crap piles up in the garrage I raise the car up to appear at the same level.  As we enter the limits which make up the garrage ceiling i'm soon to have to admit I may have brought one or two items home.  Thank God the wife and kids avoid the barn.  lt looks like we are trying to corner the rusty iron comodity market.

Hmm, I have a Capri racing car on a lift - which is currently in the air so the patch underneath it can be used for storage!

Temporary storage, obviously....
Cheers!

Denial lads.  I'm reading a lot of denial.

But while I'm here do you want to sell the lift AdeV?  I've always wanted one.  I'll bet I could use it to pull stubborn flywheels too.

Actually, I'm after another one myself... Dad's car has been on it so bloody long, I've got nowhere to put MY project...
Cheers!

and you guys think you have problems...

I just had a X-ray Florescence  Spectrophotometer dropped off at my CHP room.
It only needs a little work and some liquid N2 and a new computer and the detector pumped down and sealed, etc, etc, etc...
It's to go with the two gas chromatagraphs, purge and trap unit, mass selective detector and on-site autosampler I have my my storage unit. (I guess)

You should be imagining me standing on the corner of our country road holding a sign that says "will do lab instrumentation work for food" sign...

You are Slackers all  ;D

Anyone want to come over and help me install new shelves in my polebarn ???
