It's "Tourist Season" around here... I live on a lake... I need a license so I can thin out the heard a little.
;D
Every year.... you would think people had never seen water! Some were water skiing @ 6:00am and others
well into the darkness last night.

Maybe I should fire up my Diesel's and smoke out the rodents!  :D

Carlb

you could but i am sure they would call the law on you  ???

Try and think of the noise as the Sound of People having Fun.

I know it seems like they're just rubbing their EPA approved engines in your face but really they're just folks letting off some steam.

We're thinking about having tourists declared an endangered species here at Camp Aloha.

"Fun".  What the heck is that?   ???  Oh yeah I remember.  That is when the part you just spent a day machining doesn't fit properly because you trusted someone else's instructions and you have to re-do the whole thing.

I think we have some fun challenged people here.

I just got the conduit up through the plates above the main breaker box.  My neighbor drilled the 2" hole from below while I held everything out of the way up in the fiber glassed attic.  Of course I'm not going to try to tell anyone that this was the most fun I've had this week.  When the Sunny Boy showed up with a crumpled back plate - Now that was some fun and it might last me through the entire month.

Pull that plate off and smack it a couple of times with a sledge hammer between two 2x4s and Bob's your Uncle.  What do you think?

Now that is one electrifying idea! I'm glad we still have a sense of humor.

I think you shud put the UPS delivery guy between two 2x4's and smack with a sledgehammer.  Not my idea necessarily of fun but dammit that entire company needs a 2x4 smack up side the head.  They aren't called "OOPS" for nothing.

Hey casey,

Just chuck that Sunny/windyboy (not sure which one you got) up on your shoulder and put in place when your ready :).  I installed two of the sb5000's this past December and those thing weigh a ton.

I hear you on that! I don't know exactly how much my Xantrex SW5548's weigh but the box says 75+Kg and it seems it's 80% in one corner where I assume the transformer is, a bitch getting them up on the wall! I ended up mounting them to 2x6's on the floor and lifting them up with leverage.

LowGear

So what I'm hearing is;  Don't fix it - Just plug it in?

The box reads 148 pounds (UPS max is 150) but that was before the seller taped the DC disconnect switch to the top just to make it awkward and heavy.  Dilbert's boss at UPS (and yes it's pronounced oops here in Hawaii as well) is going to call Monday; no Tuesday; as Monday is a holiday; Is Wednesday anything?  The trick to remember is that most everything is an opportunity. ::)

The actual lifting and mounting is a child labor program.  I'm building the receiver bracket support system today.  What better way to celebrate the fourth than moving towards energy independence?
