a few more thoughts on component integration for a system such as this one
was mentioned by member HWEW (Henry) a while back

one of the small units would work out pretty good for the system outlined in this topic
under full load there ought to be ~30kbtu recovered from the 175 from both exhaust and coolant
maybe a bit more, or a bit less.

this smaller project is really nothing new, it follows the overall design of the larger 195 trigen but is more purpose specific.
rather than being a multimode thermal conversion unit, it will likely be programmed/tuned to provide power and domestic
hot water under very tightly controlled conditions.

after looking at Henry's suggestion, it looks to me like the smaller unit would be a nice match for such a setup
small enough to be responsive, yet large enough to be useful for an efficient 2 person home for a significant portion of the year.

something else i came across would make for an easy to control pump and valve system,
as used on bmw's, jag, mercedes and others,, it incorporates the bosch pump and a two way solenoid controlled splitter
valve

the controller could direct flow to the storage tank until it is up to temperature, and then via the solenoid pack switch over to another thermal
mass or to a radiator.

while on the controller subject, a pwm driver could also be used to modulate the pump flow to tune the amount of water flow to match the loading on the engine as well.
