just a quick note to the membership

thank you so much to all who have sent in funds to pay the hosting for this forum,  i think we have enough to take care
of the problem well into the future...

also keep thinking of where you would like to see the forum go... topics?

from a personal update, my mom has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, 3rd time in 26 years,  so of course many trips to and from the various dr's, then surgery/mastectomy, then home, then back to the hospital for another we due to infection/mursa issues, back home this last weekend and i have been tied up taking care of her (along with my wife, who's help is invaluable)... so...

i am way behind here, however rest assured i will get the hosting paid up, and hopefully next week start into condensing this forum, doing some housekeeping and then setting up some new topic's that should make this place more relevant and useful for folks going into the future.

more updates as they are available
thanks to all for your patience

thanks Guys

i just got back from the latest post op checkup with mom, and she is doing very well... i wish i was half as resilient as
this old bird is!

so i expect to get some time later in the week, or this weekend to start chopping/hacking/remodeling on the forum.

using the idea's form the group, and a few of my own, the hope is to rebirth this baby with perhaps a new direction
that might make things a bit more fun, and interesting for a broader range of folks and maybe even for those old ducks like myself.

this is what i am kind of thinking as something that seems interesting

with the historical direction of this and our sister forum, being one of component development, or maybe even
systems development,  i for one like the idea of maybe starting from the other end, that being the house as a structure
and work backwards downward to the component level.

i am still struck by the simplicity and utility of one of our members (sorry i can't recall his name just now) who for reasons of personal economy setup a 20 foot shipping container as his living quarters, and iirc another set along side as his shop with a courtyard between...  yes quite small by most any standard he managed to get a livable system all based around the listeroid 6/1.   he further refined his system to the point the engine (again form memory) was reduced in rpm to around 350rpm and was using waste motor oil as his major fuel source.

with pv panels, small inverter/gensets, etc now widely available and all the other stuff that guys/gals have developed over the years, having a practical and very useful integration of these works into finished living units seems a very noble direction to go.

this of course being only one of several possible directions we can go...

Bob and Ron,

Yes, it was Rbodell.
He moved to Alaska.
Here's his most recent video...

ok,  we have another segment or area in the forum,  the topic being practical application as it relates to the tiny house movement.    bearing in mind there will be some tweaking and nothing is cast in stone here... so speak up folks.

next is looking into where to condense or maybe archive some of the topics we don't use that much? or should we just leave everything where it is at for a while?

more idea's and topics are solicited from all of you folks, so don't be bashful speak up and lets do some spit balling to see what works and where we need to go.

thanks
