But do I believe?

This is something like a "Puzzler" on Car Talk a year or two ago.  I didn't buy it then either.

If it was in a high enough gear it should be pretty easy.

Go ahead and laugh Casey, I have done it! I guess I was about twenty then, we were out in the woods in an old chopped  40hp VW beetle. The old battery was really weak, it would light up the ignition, but wouldn't turn the engine over. I killed the engine right in the bottom of a "holler" where it was up hill both ways, so we jacked up the old Bug, got one rear wheel off the ground, and with the tranny in high gear, spun the oversized mud tire till she fired.

Well Ron,

I'd have to know how much shine was in you and if that was yer hollar ya was in at the time before I could forecast your death.

You know the next time I've got something up on a jack I'm gonna half ta fetch a rope, fit it to the wheel and get the ole lady ta spin it really fast afore I drop the clutch.

Cheers,

Nope, not my 'holler" and I was stone cold sober. :'(  And a long way from anywhere. (ie: properly motivated)
