Good Job Marcus. Very creative, nothing wrong with a little "Rube" when needed. often it promotes new ideas that may otherwise not have been investigated.

Member's that have a band saw and a lathe could possibly saw off the end of the "bad crank" and bore to suit the required mounting needs, and save having to machine the flywheel/flexplate mounting portion.

In the video did you turn it backwards to get more a little more run at it? Will it turn over if the piston is just before TDC?

Yes, it cranks just fine in whatever position it's in!  There was some residual movement when I started filming because of shutting down the running engine.   My wife thinks it's awesome that she can go down to the powerhouse and start it whenever she wants.
