I have cut 35 horse mats ......I will assume they are the same as cow mats....as mention by RCA I used a 2x4 and layed it under the mat where you want to cut it. I used a straight edge 3" x 1/8" and with a nice fresh utility knife make several passes....don't try and cut it in one pass it will pinch and you will run out of ass....It will spread open as you cut it if the 2 x 4 is in the correct position and the knife will pull through easily if you a patiente. Doing lots of them you need a stone and freshin up your blade often. The only way IMO.

Milwaukee Sawzall with a coarse blade and a steady hand. Lube the blade with WD-40. ;)

I used a good sharp box cutter blade and several passes, let the mat droop over the edge of a 2x4, and the cut just opens up as you cut thru the skin, tendons and muscle.

Keep your body parts out of the way if the knife skips ....

I've done both the jig saw and box cutter method.   The box cutter method is easier and doesn't stink.

tire soap and a box cutter, then it will cut like butter if bent over a 2x4
