Marcus , the only thing I see is the controller. I have heard of a bunch of Chinese knock-offs built to look like the Monikon controllers that are junk. I'm not saying that the one in your pic is- I don't know how to tell, but the location sounded fishy. Just sayin ;D
Tom Osbourne stocks the OEM Monikon brand, I talked to him a couple weeks ago. His prices are competitive.

Maybe the vibration detector, low/high oil level, and a CO detector  ???

As I recall, you already have high/low voltage detector to disconnect generator from house wiring for over/under engine speed protection and when engine shuts down.  Or maybe you will accomplish this with the generator controller ???

Given your young children, I think I would also rig something up to childproof your engine room (i.e., shutdown engine if some aural alarm isn't addressed in some short period of time when entering the room, etc).  Or maybe the door lock is used 100% of the time and this is not an issue  ???
