Just your basic china diesel with outrageous claims for an outrageous price. Check the board for the $500 generator, same thing.

I have seen pretty much the same setup for around $1,500.00 - $1,800.00 on craigslist.

I came across one with 86 hours on it for $2K.
I didn't want to buy it and then find out it has a bad track record or parts are impossible to acquire.

they are overstating the fuel economy as well, it works out to 8.7kw/hr/gallon
better than a 6/1 listeroid, unlikely!

Is the head a cheap, lightweight POS like many other chinese units out there or would this be considered more durable?
I'm looking for something with a smaller footprint to replace the listeroid 25/2 used for grid backup during/after storms.

There are decent Diesel gensets on a frame like that, look up generatorsales.com
or Hardy Diesel for some insight. I take it you don't want to build it yourself?

Been there, done that twice.

I'm now in the position where I will require something more portable but I'm not willing to sacrifice reliability. Something in the 7Kw range less than 400 lbs if possible. I don't have the time, money nor desire to fab out another one. I came across this 6.5Kw unit weighing 300 lbs and saw this as a viable trade-off but I have my concerns about the head reliability.

I built the 15Kw setup for a house full of kid's. My three daughter's have moved out on there own so all that extra kick isn't required anymore. They now live elsewhere and I was considering replacing it with something that I can take to them if needed but still have enough power to where they would not have to be too concerned about management. Just run it and call me if something breaks. Big Green is a ton of iron bolted to the slab.

Why not teach them something about management of power ,it saves money and fuel.
Hope not to offend you with my question.
But depends where you live, water heat ore cold is the most importend things.

No offense at all. I'm chuckling and if you knew them you would be too. They just want things to work and are not concerned with what's behind the curtain or under the bonnet. Life in the big city I guess.
