I need to set my st5 for 120v only. Will the avr work correctly?  The side of the avr shows for it to be hooked up to u1 and u2. It was hooked up that way but that was for 240v.

As you suspected, a 240V AVR is not typically going to work for 120V.  You may be able to do it using a small 120-240V transformer (cheap on ebay) to give the AVR the 240 it wants to see, but you'd have to provide the schematic or at least the hook up diagram for your AVR.

Thanx for the replies but I found a better solution for what I am wanting to do.  The reason I needed 120v only was due to me using a transformer to lower the voltage to rectify and feed my mx60.  Well today I unbox the transformer and find out it is a dual primary / dual secondary transformer.  It will allow me to input 240v and output 104v.  Best thing about this is I got it for free.  When I purchased some of the solar equipment I have the guy asked if I needed a 5kva 240-120 transformer and he would let me have it.  I didnt even look at it and loaded it up before he changed his mind.  Well today I get it out to look at and find out what it is.  I tested it today along with the rectifier I just got in the mail Friday.  245vac (power company) input, 105vac output that I fed into the rectifier and read 95.6vdc out.  And to think all of this time I have been tryin to figure out how I want to set my system up and this transformer made it very easy.  Here is the link to the info on the transformer.  Its a DU-5.  http://www.signaltransformer.com/sites/all/pdf/DU-SU.pdf
