If I understand correctly your pipe is thin like a exhaust header pipe.  If it is AND you can get the bolts started just take a torch and heat the pipe cherry red and tighten down the bolts.

This will draw the flange in against the head or whatever and straighten it out.  Don't heat the flange but instead heat the pipe out away from the flange.  Let it cool and remove to insert your gasket.

I have seen many large bent steel hyd lines straightened so they can be reattached to their holding brackets doing this.

Permatex "copper" RTV silicone sealant, comes in a tube, will not damage O2 sensors, not that it matters to you in  this app. let it cure for 24 to 36 hours before starting.

I would not consider 1/8" thick pipe as heavy wall,  it will still bend if heated cherry red and you have enough pipe to work with.  Have a helper keep the pipe cherry red while the bolts are snugged up.

The secret is to keep the metal cherry red while tightening the bolts.   A steel railroad rail will bend if heated properly.
