what would you guys like to see with the forum?

here is your opportunity to discuss restructuring the forum, adding and moving boards
and generally making it easier to use, less bloated and more relevant to our current needs.

so what would you guys like to see

Bob,  Can there be another category added for the Witte engine.  There are at least two Witte owners on the forum that I'm aware of and there may be more.

Yes, I agree with flywheel. I have acquired an interest in those engines and would like to know more so if there is anyone out there that would care to give the forum a short study course in the models and years built or some links to such info it would be a good thing. The diesel witte's is where my interests are, not the old gas or natural gas models.

i am thinking that if we add the witte, (which i am in favor of) we ought not preclude discussion on the spark ignition models
there is likely much to be learned about the design from all the different models that might be of use to us with other engine's.

at least that has always been my experience anyway.

one thing for sure, one ought not throw away his spark plug sockets, don't ask me how i know this.

Go to www.popengines.com and you can find information on the witte including all models and years made by serial number, this includes the gas models also.

my thinking is it is time to do a bit of housekeeping, and streamline things a bit.

some of the boards that have had little activity still have some useful information, so my thinking is to take those boards
and move them to an archive section where they can continue to function and save the info they already contain, however
members can simply minimize the archive section and in doing so reduce the size or appearance on the front page.

I don't think archives are a good idea just yet, it would further spread out the info/posts we do have in the less used forums. Some judicious merging however could be useful. (I've got some thoughts I'm putting together on this, if it would be helpful)

thanks flywheel at least that is a start!

Bob I was not hexing the gas witte just saying that I have little interest in very old gas hit and miss engines now a diesel like lowgear has talked of is of interest to me. And yes I agree with you don't ever throw away your spark plug wrench..........

I contacted a few moderators about Witte.  I was hoping for a more open undirected "Other" section rather than anything dedicated to a few entries a year.  The main menu is already deep enough for me (page downs).  If you're not willing to shop or hunt around a little you're not going to do well in the Witte experience.  I wonder what the distribution of posts are by brand or family?
