Hello Guy's,

Well I m finally back and ready to get back into the swing of things again.

I will be getting a new head gasket for my ZS195 engine from http://www.changfagaskets.com/ I will be taking pictures of the differances of the gaskets and will be posting them here very soon.
Oh, I will also be taking pictures of removal and install.

Looking forward to seeing the picures Henry.  Please remind us why the engine requires a new head gasket.  Is it due to a water jacket leak or combustion gasses escape?  How many hours did you get from the original?  Did an engine overheat 'accident' lead to the failure?

195 changfa's chinese headgasket tendency to blow out.  That's the reason to replace with better gasket.

in my experience the 195 idi engines have head gskt failures due to cracking of the fire ring
at about 7500watts output or so, the gaskets to go replacement (s1100) is the fix for that issue.

Henry  has a 195 di engine, and i am not sure why he is changing gskts, he has pulled over 8 kwatts
from his engine without failure that i am aware of

might be the difference in comp ratios between the idi and di engine's, the idi has 20:1 and the di has 17 or 18:1 iirc

and the two engines take much different gskts as well. they fit at the liner differently, so you gotta get the right gskt
for the engine you have.

I ran a load of over 8400 watts for over an hour and I noticed that the water in the hopper was boiling so violently that it looked like a volcano erupting. I would say that was max load without a cooling system without a water pump. I would say the S195 DI engines are very rugged engines.

The first reason for replacing the head gasket is first of all to see if the fire ring cracked on the load that was ran. But I suspect the origional gasket is fine.

And the second is there is a new head gasket available and I want to take pictures of the disassembly of the engine. Next compare the gaskets and take pictures. And last the assembly with pictures of the engine with the new gasket.

I also thought you S195 DI engine owners might like to see what the combustion chamber and piston looks like.

Here are some pictures of the Gaskets-To-Go, S195 DI Head Gasket with the spare head gasket that came with the rebuild kit for my Direct Injected S195 engine.

As you will see the gaskets match perfectly. But from what I see the new composite gasket from Gaskets -To-Go should take more abuse (higher temperature and pressure) and last longer than the origional gaskets.

After the holidays I will be installing the new gasket and do series of tests again.

Gaskets-To-Go quality is just as good as gaskets that I have seen from very high quality gasket manufactures in the U.S., Canada and Japan.

As for the other Changfa type diesel engine head gaskets that Gaskets-To-Go has posted I would expect the very same High Quality!!!

So I give Gaskets-To-Go two thumbs up!!! I feel us Changfa type engine owners now have a good place to puchase very high quality head gaskets at a very good price.

The Custumer Service and speed of delivery is very good. It only took 9 days to get here from the time of order. And this is on the peak of holiday season delivery!!!

Henry.....now I'm really confused  ???

I received my S195 Direct Injection head gaskets and they have a different number than yours ?
Below is a picture of my new gaskets compared to the spare that came with my engine.
What I received seems to be correct, but yours has a different part number.?
Mine are numbered S-1100-NA

The gasket bore diameter is 4.25"
What is the gasket bore diameter of your gaskets?

Update...
Bog did explain it well in this post

I guess I'll have to wait until my cyl. head needs to be removed to really confirm if they fit.

That could be years away....

Hello Veggie,

Look at the edge of the gasket between the block and head of the engine and see if the edge has a rolled over metal edge. If it does the chances are good that it is the copper gasket. It will look like the inside edge of the fire ring.

If the edge is rough and looks like fibers then you could have the gasket for a stepped liner.

I hope this helps.

Pretty soon I will be installing the new head gasket from Gasket-to-Go on the ZS195.

The weather is getting warm and I need to borrow the large torque wrench from work and get on it.

I want to load the ZS195 up and see how the new gasket will handle the stress.

I will be taking pictures of the work.

I am intrested to see what the piston and head looks like on the direct injected ZS195.

Did you ever get around to swapping the gasket?
What value did you torque it to?
Do you plan on retorqing after a few heat-cool cylces?
