As posted above my new 1115 popped the head gasket due to the nuts not being torqued. The replacement in the kit is on it now and working great. Found out what warrenty is worth at C. Stream as they want $46 for a gasket to replace the blown one,, not from this guy. I had one heck of a time removing the old gasket as it was cemented tight to both the block and head, not sure if it is usable for measurements. Gasket guy's sight shows a gasket under his list of unknowns that looks right and is marked s-1115. Anyone know if this is the correct gasket for my 1115? Mine would appear to be a Changfa, the book says it is a Changfa but the only markings on the engine is Powermart

i am willing to bet your engine is not a changfa
if it were it would have a changfa manufactures tag riveted to the front gear cover

gaskets to go, is your friend when it comes to headgskts for these and other engines, also
i would bet carrol stream had that head off before as i have never heard of any chinese engines with gskt glued on
head gskts, so check the head for flatness

one of the main things to be aware of and is different on some engines is the bore diameter of the gskt
does your gskt match the bore of the cylinder or is it larger and register over the cylinder liner leaving a ledge
of the liner for the head to sit on? was your gskt a copper clad sandwich, if so a light coating of spray on gskt adhesive is appropriate
if on the other hand it is a steel cored fiber sided gskt, use no glue.

when you replace the gskt, it is really important to torque the head properly, by properly i mean torque all to ~50ft/lbs
then release each and retorque to 50 one at a time, then progressively torque in an X pattern to the full listed torque
in at least 3 steps such as 50, 100, 150, 200 (or whatever the top rating is)

make sure the nuts are well oiled, threads and the seating face between the nut and head, and draw up in nice even movement
not jerking.

then reset the valves and run the engine up to temp, shut down, let cool and recheck the torque by backing off to the next to last
step and drawing it back up again.

talk to gaskets to go, the guy is first rate and provides vastly superior gskts to those used by changfa in my opinion.

Thanks Bob. As you know I am pretty fresh with Chinese diesels, The book is likely a copy of a copy of a copy? Only markings on the engine (in English anyway) is Powermart. Lots of other jibberish on it as you might imagine, LOL. The gasket on the engine and the one in the repair kit are the same, steel/fiber composit with fire ring.  The bore of the gaskets is larger than the cylinder bore and there was a slight step in the sleeve to which they fit perfectly. The step is no where near high enough that the head would sit on the high part of the sleeve. The proceedures for success we are familiar with, We torqued the head down in 20 incriments to whatever the spec was, something like 205 ft lbs, cool down, retorque, set the valves etc. We keep a big tube of "bolt prep" inthe shop. I have no conveniant way to load the engine until the genny gets here but it is sealed up at this time. I will try to measure up the old gasket and send them to the gasket guy

Email the gaskets to go guy and he will send a picture of the gasket in question on a background of 1/4 inch graph paper.
print it out to original size and there you go. At least that's what I did. I have a Xing Dong s1100. Try to say it 3 times ,real fast.

Recieved and installed the number S-1115 gasket our our Powermart 1115 last night and as you guys have stated previously the quality is fantastic. Not sure how this relates for you other 1115 owners because I have not been able to figgure out who built the Powermart motors for Carrol Stream.
