This has nothing to do with what we do but I thought some of you would get a kick out of this.

The Predator Chain Saw holds the worlds record for cutting a 30" log.

Looks very dangerous to me.

that one is from the buckley wa. loggers show

i haven't seen it in person, but i have seen one with one of the early 60's aluminum buick V8 engines on it.

takes a pair of gorillas to handle one of them for sure.

Bob,

I thought it was filmed near you.

I heard a couple years back the chain threw a tooth and was imbeded in a pickup tail gate.

Ouch!!! Just thinking how my back would feel if I had to lift that chain saw up.

This just proves that Redneck is a state of mind, not a matter of where you live ;D ;D
Shoot, I want one to add to my collection!!!
Seriously, I can't imagine what it must take to hold the darn thing, I have a lightly modified Stihl 066 with a 36" bar, and I have to "man up" to handle it!

Yeh that is a big one to man handle.

The Stihl 066 is some nice saw. I was looking at one years ago and decided its to much of a saw for me to handle.

I had a Stihl 046 I bought new and it just did not feel right so I sold it. It was a very nice saw though.

The best saw I like in this class of saw and will not part with it is the JONSERED 2171. The thing is roughly a pound lighter but the anti vibration system is the best I used in this class of saw. The saw just feels right to me. I can get out and do somthing after a full day of cutting.

Advice for saw buyers is the same saw might not feel the same in differant hands. Buy one that feels good to you.

Oh, here is a funny video.

Ahh!      Jonsered = Jesse James Dupree = Jackyl = Lumberjackin

Alas! The wasted days of my mis-spent youth! ;D ;D

I have 4 Stihl saws an  017, had an 028 traded it for an 034, another 034 that I bought new 20+ years ago, and "Little Bertha" the 066.
Plus I still have my Granddaddy's Remington, and a Craftsman Electric. Oops, forgot the Toro polesaw.

Here is a link to a fellow who has modified some fast saws on Youtube. Amazing how much power you can pull out of an engine. Sure is a rush to pull the trigger on them!

I have almost the same saw as that Timberwolfsaws link (Husky 350).  How come I can't cut that fast?  Maybe I'm just not using it correctly!   :) :)

Spend a couple grand $ on mods  port & polish, teflon coated bore, Wiseco single ring piston, balanced polished & tufftrided crank and custom carb
and air filter, plus a custom high flow muffler to  get it turning 16-18000 RPM and then 8 or 10 hours precision sharpening and lapping the cutters on the chain to razor sharp and file the drags near off.......  It'll cut that fast. ;D

A half decent race chain will net you at least 40% reduction in cut time over a new stock round ground chain. It will take more than a dozen hours to put one together though  ;) Engine mods can give anywhere from a mild 30% power gain and still be a workable saw to one with 300% gain in output that can only be run for about 10 seconds and need re-ringing after only a few hours run time. It is a crazy game!
