Here is a new Kubota Z482 Base Power Unit that I got in trade for my new Kubota EA300. The EA300 was worth $2600.00 and the person needed it so we swapped and both of us are very pleased with the outcome. So the Kubota Z482 Base Power Unit is my new project.
My pictures are not the greatest And I will post better ones later.

The unit came with everything except the SK bushing and pulley. They came off my EA300

If anyone wants one of these power units let me know. The ones that will be available will be more complete than mine. they will have a complete wiring harness with solonoids for startup shut down and engine monitoring and I believe it has capability of safety shutdown.

These units have the large capacity oil pan. My guess is it holds 5 or 6 quarts.

I will post in hardware for sale by members later.

I filled the oil sump and it holds 5 quarts and another 1/2 quart for the large oil filter.

Henery,
What is the brand and number of the oil filter you used on you Z482? In the picture I see yours came with the same oil filter as mine. I had some problems finding a good replacement. I also found there is not much of an air filter and is is more of a silencer. Looking at the inside it is really chocked down with a venturi and when I removed mine it was very loud. I put on a Donaldson off of a comercial application that is probably much larger than needed and has no intake noise. I sre like that oil pan! Mine does not have the big one.

Hello Dave,
Well I learned somthing tonight. The Z482 engine that I have might have a differant filter flange than the standard Z482. So right now I would have to say the large filter might not fit your engine.
I need to look into this.

Dave, Is your oil filter on the starter side?

Henry,
Mine is exactly like yours other than the large oil pan. Mine came with the same filter painted with the engine with no numbers on it. I went to the Kubota Tractor dealer where the have a Lowboy Generator with the Z482 and it uses a different filter than ours. We found one that fits. Our 482's have a different mounting thread for the filter than the generator does. I have the number of the one I am currently that fits ok but it is out in the shop. If you need it i'll get it. I see the exhaust manifolds are different......

Hi Dave,

I am looking in the threads on the filter. I think our engines filter mount threads are fractional threads, not metric. This could be a good thing because if they are fractional there are many sizes of filters we can run at cheap prices. And I am not talking about cheap Fram filters. If it is the filter I think it is. Wix/Napa, Baldwin, Fleetgaurd, and other good filter brands have large capacity filters that will fit our engine. The Z482 came with metric or fractional filter setups.

I have a FILTER CROSS REFERENCE LIST waiting to post. All I need to do is find out what we have.

Hi Dave,

I just read your post again and I missed that you said you have a filter number. What is the filter brand and number?

Oh, I have two different new exhaust manifolds. The other is just like yours.

hwew,
You are correct, ours are fractional. The Kubota dealer gave me a metric the firsts go around P/N 70000-15241. It is a sloppy fit and felt like if you tightened it down it would strip the threads. After I convinced them somthing was up they found a Kubota fractional one. It screws on nicely but the seal contacts on the outer edge of the base. It work fine but a good Wix/Napa number with a tad smaller seal diameter would be better. The good kubota number is 70000-32431. If you come up with a better filter yell I want to buy an extra and store it with the generator.

Hi Dave,

Here is the oil filter cross referance for the Kubota Z482 engine with Fractional Oil Filter.

Try the Wix 51342 or Napa 1342. They are good size filters. They are very high quality filters and very reasonable in price.

The 70000-32431 crosses to a Napa 1034.  It lists a gasket ID of 2.43" (61.72 mm) and OD of 2.734" (69.44 mm) with a thread size of 3/4-16.

The Napa 1342 has the same thread but a gasket ID of 2.421" (62.49mm) and OD of 2.865" (72.77 mm).  Both filters have a flow rate of 7-9 GPM.

Measure what you need on the gasket.  If neither one is quite right, we'll find another.

Spare time for the install?  Priceless.
Solar air and hot water are next on the list.
