first post on the new forum and like everyone else was glad to see a lot of the old gang back///I think most people know I live in the south(usa)/ Atlanta ga. for the last 5 day we have had rain... at my house 13 inches. some places 20 inches/Atlanta is under water in many places/toll is about 10 dead and millions of dollars of damage.... my toll is 4 engines under water and 4 1/2 feet of water in yard and basement/one lister diesel I can see the top valve cover.the others are out of site.unless you ever had a fire.flood or tornado you will never know the destruction they cause. fire and tornado are covered by home owner insurance, not flood. you have to have a seperete policy and it is thru FEMA, the good old government.it seems to be one agency that actually works.it has a lot of limitations on coverage but it is better than nothing//the only good side to this is I have flood insurance.it will not cover the engines and yard equipment but most can be put back in working order.the ones I feel sad for are the people that have lost family members and the ones that have lost their homes and do not have flood insurance.. most people that get flooded have never been fllooded and did not know they could be under water, unless you have seen water riseing it is hard to imagine how fast it can rise and move.sorry for the long winded opening/sid

I live perilously close to floodzone too. Every spring is a nail-biter. Get those heads off and crankcase covers open and those Listers will live again.Good luck with your cleanup. Paul.

found my lister today/ less damage than expected/ also found my hercules, witte etc. most will live again. the ones with magnetos I remove and keep them in a dry place///so it is a simple job to wash off ,drain and replace fuel and lube and they will be off and running.I was luckier than most but I have been thru this before and try to keep prepaired for wet weather.still it is not a very pleasant experience/ sid
