I thought I would start a new topic about the Kubota EA300 engines.

The EA300 is no longer available from Kubota dealers but at times brand new ones still can be found on Ebay.

Kubota still makes this engine series and are imported in the U.S. and Canada. The new model is EA330.
This newer model is an EPA compliant version. From what I can see, the only differance is a slightly larger bore, no hand crank, and no cold start fuel enrichment device.

The hand crank parts are still available to purchase so a hand crank can be installed if needed.

These are very neat little engines for a generator up to 3500 watts. Or an alternator setup.

I have came up with a location to download the service and parts manuals in PDF. So if you need them I would recommend downloading them when they are posted. Kubota has a way of getting upset when they find out and write nasty letters to people. (I watched it happen on a tractor forum) So what I am saying is get them while you can.

Will post more later.

Henry,

Congrats on your new purchase!
Nice little unit for driving an alternator.

Here's a video of an EA300 driving an automotive alternator.

Hello Veggie,

Thanks for posting the small clip. They would make a good engine for that application.

I am having some pulley's made up. I am hoping to have them next week. I hope to run load tests on this little engine with the ST-12 head since I have a good test platform for such tests.

My goal is to see if the EA300 has enough guts when hooked up to the ST-12 to kick over the well pump.

It turns out that the smaller pulley would also be a nice size to spin an alternator.

I guess I will have plenty of options on what I can run.

If I can only find a 4 or 5 Kw 240 volt pure sine wave inverter with 8 or 10 Kw surge.
