Let there be no doubt then.  Why not make a bold statement on the site home page proclaiming the absurd that unlike the rest of the world's, [our] shit has absolutely no smell!

You mean yours does smell?

Oi, Admin? Who let this one in!?

;)
Cheers!

Not if what I said was true. As I was pointing out, I seem to be a part of a 'sanitized collective'.

it was certainly within JohnF's right to make the comment he originally made, and also his right to remove it later.

for the record i fully understand where he was coming from in both instances as well.

Had RAB only made a comment about the forum software, and not also gone on and made a personal comment
on the number of boards perhaps JohnF might have not commented? i don't know, what i do know is several members
made a comment to me personally about the offhand nature of RAB's first post to the forum being one that was a bit confusing
and more critical than perhaps it should have been, especially inlight of it being his first post here.

I think RAB is a big boy, and certainly probably understands full well that if you come into a new forum being critical of something
you might get a swat in the nose, especially if it comes off as being critical of what others might see as something they care about.

I understand RAB's concerns with the forum software, i don't fully understand his concern with the number of boards, and likely will not be moving to change things based on his comments in regard to the latter. I also understand JohnF making his observation, because it too was shared by many other members here, JohnF was just man enough to put it in print, and later man enough to remove it.

We just need to keep on doing what we set out to do, it has been working very well for the nearly first three months of operation.

We also have to realize that this forum is not going to be to the likeing of everyone no matter what we do, and trying to make it so
is probably going to be an excersize in futility.

We also should remember that each member here donates his time and experience to this forum, some folks have time to donate more time than others, however this should not be the measure of how important a members contribution is to the forum.

Push come to shove i will likely give the benefit of the doubt to an established member over that of a new member almost always.

As i see no need for further discussion on this topic, i am locking this thread.
