I have just aquired an 1988 model 175 II.  The injection pump was all gummed up.  I have dis-assembled it and cleaned it and have put it back together but I won't pump.  I am wondering if I have misinterpreted the alignment marks.  Does anyone know of some instructions or pictures?

Thanks
Bryan

Don't worry, I got it running.  I had the throttle position wrong.  The markings are gone and I thought the off position was full throttle.  After lots of cranking, it works well now.

Aloha Bryan,

Unlike you; I do not rat myself out (but that's another rule).  I have had a couple of these days myself.  One with a leaf blower only my fight was with the choke.  That was the day that I swore as a Primal Rule that I would not pickup a tool to do work without wearing my glasses.  The Little Windy Man does not work anymore, no matter how many pairs of glasses I have on, so has been promoted to the top shelf of the storage rack and sets there as a monument to my bull headedness and ability to be absolutely wrong - with Gusto.  I'm betting you know who the Big Windy Man is.

Cheers,

don't kick yourself too hard,  iirc i ran into the same issue with my 175 when the pump was stuck
after i got it apart and back together again, i couldn't figure out why the hell it wouldn't run?

yup, in my haste and bullheadedness i had the throttle position set to no fuel.

that was easy enough to fix, after i cooled down and took another look.

i also do it with some regularity with the gx honda 160's and their clones,  the darn choke and fuel stickers seem to fall off
and yankety yank, yank (curse) take apart the carb again, yankety yank, well hell i think this lever is right?  lol

thinking about it now, i think i will drill a hole in the plastic housing to indicate fuel on and choke,

of course the next time i need to start the darn thing?  now which way does the hole indicate?

i did cheat on the 175 though, i put an electric start on the bugger,   that helps me a lot.
