If you have porosity in your weld, you likely either are out of gas or your gas flow is too low.

I'm assuming you are using argon as your shielding gas.  Make sure you are flowing enough to displace the air surrounding the weld area. 

Also, I don't know your machine, but my bigger one has a crater fill adjustment that will help you with the "hole" that you mentioned.  If you stick the tungsten, it's a bitch but not the end of the world.  You still should be able to puddle the area and flow it.

Like previously posted, sharp tip on your tungsten.  I use a green stone to grind mine...  2% should be fine for what you're doing.

Lastly, make sure your post flow (if your machine has it) is set long enough to let the weld puddle cool.  Don't take the torch away until the gas flow shuts off.  The purpose of post flow is also to reduce porosity in the puddle until it's cool.

My guess is either not enough gas or wrong type....
