Wasn't there a thread that discussed the best oil or "stuff" to loosen tight nuts.  (Keep it clean.)

Suggestions?

George Breckenridge on his "Lister Longevity"has a study that recommends half tranny fluid and half acetone.
It works pretty good for me

This formula is also known as Ed's Red. I'm kind of partial to PB Blaster.

An old(er than me) dude once told me to "throw it in the pond and let it soak for a month or so". I suppose water is the universal solvent, but I don't want to soak some things in the pond! ;)

I have heard that same thing from an old(also older than me:)) machinist who used to restore antique engines.  He would submerge the whole engine block in water with a heater in it and let it set...

Wow!  That acetone is some strong stuff.  The oil can pump stopped moving oil or at least 50/50 ATF/acetone.  I'll pick up an old fashioned bottom style oil can and get back on it.

Yes don't use plastic with acetone,  It will just get eaten up.   I use an old time copper oil can for mine.
