 Anybody know where to find a dealer still in business in 2014 that carried parts in North America or will ship to north America?
  Also where to find manuals with all the specs and part numbers ?
   I just purchased a Jiang Dong Z1100 for a generator project.

not sure about parts, however i think the s195 manual also shows the part numbers for the 1100 variants

i haven't talked to the gaskets to go guy in a number of years now, however my bet is he could probably connect one looking for hard parts for these engine's to a supplier or two that would be willing to ship to north america.

iirc there is a fellow by the name of Lee or Li in or around los angeles that is actively supporting these engine's with parts, not cheap but apparently he has them.  i think George B. has contact info for him?  you might consider emailing George to see what he has to say on the subject. Bare in mind it might take a week or more to get a response from George as i think he is out of town just now.

Thanks for the info. I had hoped to tap into the Yanmar network for manuals and parts. I figure they are the most reliable long term source. They are a bit distant to find as well.
  I just had the old computer conk out and retrieval of files is taking a bit of time. I did have some address somehwere to order Yanmar manuals from somewhere.

Thanks for the link to Lee.
I had been to Utterpower but had given up when the last radiator adapter and flywheel shaft drive were noted as sold.
   I tried last night to download a full Yanmar TR195 and TS230  service manual online. However my $16.75 Paypal appears to have been in vain. No manual but the computer acts like it has a virus. Figures , it's the first day I've really used the new machine.

The adapter plate is really not very tough to make but they can easily not work right if you miss a couple details.  Lessons learned from my experiences getting them to work right are as follows;
Use 3/8" or thicker plate due to the wide bolt spacing to prevent leaks, I use 1/2"
The out (hot) pipe should be closer to the head and in the corner of the plate
The return should be opposite corner toward crankshaft
The return should drop down in the hopper a bit bellow the plate. It doesn't need to be much, and inch or so.

What happens if you dont get the pipes right is the water is confused which way to go as it warms, sometimes it will try to go backwards, sometimes neither way. The combination of moving the out pipe closer to the head (where the most heat is generated)  and dipping the return down into the hopper just a bit solved all the problems on my first one and has worked well on 4-5 since then I have built for others. I have also went to drilling and threading the plate for the pipes instead of welding, I am just not that good with a welder, saves leaks.  I havent seen the need for a thermostat, unlike a Listeroid where the water is always moving in the right direction the horizontals  hardly curulate any water until the engine is HOT My two set ups run 180-200 irregardless of load with no stats.

  I have done business with Lee. He knows how and where to get the parts but he has been hard to get a hold of recently. His father was very sick for a while and that may be what is going on now?  been a while since we have talked.

Found and downloaded a pretty decent Yanmar service manual from  Tradebit .

Same here, Lee answered my Emails and suggested a group buy (how many 1100's are there anyway?) then he stopped replying.
