it was about a once in a lifetime event around these parts

we had a rather large sale here in this little town last saturday

there was about 40 antique tractors of all sorts, about 150 stationary engines
maybe another 50 walk behind tractors or all sorts with some really cool impliments
buzz saws, motorcycles, cushmans trucksters, and other stuff.

a BDrba witte diesel followed me home!  :)

nice old survivor that started out life as a genset, some bozo removed the alternator to scrap out the copper (i hate folks that have no clue and do that sort of thing).

also picked up a montgomery ward/gilson 2414 tractor with a matching disc, i am tickled pink to get this pair.

Bob,
Was that the Heath auction near Florence?

Yes, my feelers go out a long ways, LOL

Have a friend near that called and told me about it.

yup it was joe heath's collection

joe was an interesting guy, he would do just about anything from just about anyone

he and my dad were good friends, he would take dad to engine shows all over the state
and sometimes a bit further, even though dad was several years older and in worse health.

Joe and Dad went to tulsa for me about 10 years ago to pickup a leblond lathe i bought off ebay
and he refused payment for the trip.

i was lucky enough to get to know Joe a bit before he passed, did a few repair jobs for him, and got the nickel tour of his stuff about 3 years ago now.  i seriously had no idea he had so much stuff.

Joe passed away getting on 8 months ago iirc, and dad followed him to the big engine show in the sky about 2 months later.

what a pair those two were!

Nixon auctioneers did the deed, and got it all off to new homes.

there were some incredibly good buys to be had that was for sure.

a friend of mine bought about 27 items from that sale, it took him 5 or 6 pickup loads to get it all moved.

and it was all smaller stuff!

i never been to anything like this before, and don't expect to get the opportunity to do so again, at least around these parts.

Hey Bob! That Monkey Ward's has Farmall Cub wheel weights on it. They should make it pull at least 75% better ::)
Really though, good on you for the pair.
No, I'm not a bit jealous of the Witte.  >:(
