Tin foil won't do it, might even kill ya, ya need a grounded copper screen Faraday cage hat, or a lead fedora with inch thick lead.

Don't be given me none-a your intellectual pseudo-science. My tin foil hat has been protecting me from solar flares and Guvmint mind control for decades, without any problems whatsoever. It's the thick Name-Brand stuff, not that cheap thin no-name stuff. And of course, shiny side out, or it won't work. Anybody knows that.

I'm sure a CME will bounce right off. Or pass through, without hittin' anything... ;D

Again, seriously, if it wasn't cloudy right now, I'd be out watching for the "Northern Lights" right now. Would be a rare treat this far south. Anyone seen anything?

I saw the Northern Lights in East Greenbush New York once back in the 70's and it was a sight to see. It is a very rare sight indeed. I will never forget it. I did not know what it was and being so young I woke everyone up because I thought this was the end. It also freaked my father out to the point that he started making phone calls. It made the news that morning. I guess it got lots of people concerned.

LOL!   I did the same thing the summer I was dating the Preacher's Daughter!!!   I figured that the jig was up and I would have to pay for my "transgressions"!  She was hot, though. ::)

Well ok, maybe the heavy name brand stuff, and if you aint got the shiny side out you might as well not even have it on.

It broke the output shaft on my tractor, which powers our generator. We were without power for five hours while I went to town to get it welded up. No one else around here lost power though. ::)

I've lost 20 pounds so I left Hawaii just in case it sunk.  I'll ride this latest wave set out here in my Man Cave before returning to pay my taxes.  Even Flares don't stop taxes!

Once again, a massive solar flair hits earth and we have solid overcast and rain predicted for three days.  No chance of seeing any Northern lights for us.  We rarely see them anyway (North Texas area).  At least the drought is over!
