Hello! I have acquired a few single phase electric motors that I plan on using for various applications. There's only one problem with them. They are all missing the start capacitors. They were being prepared for "scrapping" when I acquired them and the start capacitors had been removed. I was wondering if there is a formula for sizing a start capacitor to a motor? I opened up the capacitor covers on a few of my motors and they all had a little bit different sized capacitors. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks!

Any chance of finding information on the manufacturer's web site, based on the nameplate data (model #)?

I've searched online on Baldors website with no luck. I called them and they wouldn't give me any information. They just want to sell me a new motor. lol

Call Granger and give the the name plate info on the motor and they can then sell you the proper capacitor.
