It is going to be a year or so until I get time to start. I just keep collecting componets as I see them, air clearner, muffler, pulleys, ST 10, etc. I also hope to see more photos of other member builds as I think about how I will do it.

I tried getting a setup for the Cat engine I had two years ago and they are not available in the U.S. Getting an SAE 5 housing and an SAE 6-1/2 flywheel will be over $1,000.00 Finding the setup, that is another problem.

Those Perkins 402d-05 engines do not like to be wound up to 3600 rpm's for a long time. I know some of the perkins have been limited to 3000 RPM. so be careful.

I feel around 2600 to rpm are ideal for these engines.

3600 rpm direct drive gen-head would stress the engine out to much and the engine would live a much shorter life than a 2600 rpm setup. And 1800 rpm direct drive gen-head would cause vibration problems. Those engines do not like being ran at 1800 rpm. The best bet is to belt drive a gen-head.
