I swear we discussed this engine here in the past - but I can't find the thread!

Interesting, in any case! And a good explanation, even if it is a marketing tool.

I remember something too but not the same presentation. I think the other one was much more complicated. This one looks like it will fly as there were similar concepts used in some large ship engines. Talk about a wonderful configuration for a cab over truck. I wonder how well it lends itself to meeting epa regs. Two strokes have a lot going for them in Hp to weight ratio, though I dont think we will ever see the likes again of such as the old DKW auto that used oil mixed in the gas!

Nope, I think it's the same engine, just earlier in the concept phase.

Bob, it's designed by DARPA. The Guv'ament don't have ta worry about emissions!  That's why a fellow can't buy a surplus humvee or one of the older jeeps
or even a newer used Postal Jeep. The Federal Government has conveniently exempted itself from any and all emissions standards for government vehicles.
How's that for a double standard? The sorry SOB's. Have I mentioned that they piss me off?
My NSA file just got a little bit thicker. oops. ::)

So what does the EIS for an atomic device look like?

Cities be no better than the Feds only the cities don't bother to exempt themselves they just don't follow the rules, regulations or laws.

Some computer controlled, direct injected 2 strokes do pass emmision standards. Look at Mercury, Johnson/Evenrude outboards.
