A source for some chinese horizontal diesel engine parts can be found on ebay.  The easiest way is to do a search and use ONLY the word Changfa.

Click on these items that show up under changfa and visit and search their ebay store.  There is a seller that always has changfa parts for sale.  His prices are high.  Many changfa parts also fit most other brands, the only thing different is the brand name.

Never met a diesel engine I didnt like.

Not any more....

It seems that once the engines have been stopped from being imported, no one is selling parts anymore?

Only place I see for parts anymore is straight from China.

Someone here took a "poll" on the amount of interest in making a large parts buy. A sort of pool if you will, and that was the end
of it. I would like to accumulate enough parts to build my 1100, if ever need be.

Ron,

I'm of a similar mind.  I'd like to get a big box of spares for my Changfa 1115.  Timing is bad for all the money I am able to scrape together has to go into getting my wind turbine and associated electrical system finished and on-line.  This is a serious concern for me about timing.  Availability of parts from China will stop if the financial global system collapses and commerce comes to a halt.

You are right. I have a Chinese lathe, I guess I may have to resort to making some Chinese parts if it comes to it. Would rather buy...  ;D

RCA, you concern me more than you know ;D.
But seriously, most of the members here have powerplants that if TSHTF scenario plays out, we are effectively screwed
unless we have laid in a good spare parts store. Or have the good fortune to have engines in multiples.
I really wish that someone could come up with an engine that uses US made parts from some very commonly available source.
Think small block Chevy or even liners and pistons etc. from a Cummins diesel or the like.

When TSHTF even those of us with engine spares will be effectively screwed unless our planning and luck are working well.  Plan for the worst and hope for the best.  We live in uncertain times.

Is it possible to source a good set of drawings?

Even if in Chinese, a good picture with all the measurements in millimeters would be sufficent to duplicate needed parts... except maybe for injection pump parts.

There has not been enough interest for a parts order from China,  the shipping and fees will be ten times more than the parts for a small order.
