BioDiesel & Blended fuels in todays modern diesel engines.

I thought I would start this topic because more members here are starting to use todays modern diesel engines.

I found some info from Kubota. so I will link it here. Feel free to post what you find from other engine manufactures.

The manufacturers must be very careful because a blanket statement authorizing the use of biodiesel can cost millions in warranty claims.
They are playing it very safe right now by allowing up to 5% (B5) blends. There is a wide range in the quality of BioD at this time. From back yard brewers all the way to plants producing 100MM ltrs/year.
If one is confident of the quality, tests have shown BioD to be an excellent fuel no side effects.

Caveat: Some pollution control systems on vehicles are not compatible with BioD. Why a diesel mfr. would do that is unknown.
One explanation is that getting EPA approval is more important than being able to run alternative fuels.
(From a marketing perspective, this may make sense).
