I actually wish this had happened years ago.

I worked in refineries, and a flashlight is a must-have for an operator. And it must be rated "Explosion Proof", which makes anything more expensive...

One thing the manufacturers never did was was rate the damn thing as to how much light output it gave. So we often ended up with an annual order by our safety department for 500 flashlights, and when they finally arrived, they were explosion proof, but put out very little light... so a universal set of standards for industry could be quite effective... at least for the safety trade...

4  D cell Maglite with the LED option, it'll damn near blister paint, you can still focus it, and the battery life is phenomenal. Plus it's all O ringed and water/spark proof.
